Just face it, when you’re already old, you’re pretty much not as strong as before or as keen. So, it’s indeed advisable for you to ask for assistance from a senior organization. Asking for assistance from such a group doesn’t denote that you’re already useless and that you can’t take care of yourself anymore. What senior organizations do is to tend to your “old age” needs, like basic health care assistance.
Besides, after retiring, there’s a 50/50 chance that you’ll opt to transfer residence in a more peaceful retiring community. And most retiring communities have resident senior organizations (Need we say that you can’t escape them?). Don’t think of their existence as a painful reminder of your (old) age. These organizations can actually be a huge resource for you — they have complete understanding and knowledge of all the facilities, services and types of medical care available in the area. Plus, they can spice up your “boring” senior living. Usually, senior organizations own physical therapy and rehabilitation facilities and plan social events to keep you and your neighbors busy. Such organizations also provide facilities for better exercises and physiotherapy.
And seniors organizations don’t exist to bug your life and steal your privacy away, they’re just in-charge of making sure that you’re basically doing physically and emotionally okay.
