Well, aside from the fact that old age denotes the need for health care services, it also brings forth “mysterious” loneliness to a person. Seniors basically feel lonely. No kidding, ask senior volunteers and find out that we aren’t making up things. But you’re not necessarily meant to be covered in black once you reach your prime years. As a pre senior, you should consider these three things that can make for great pastimes for you when you’re already too old to play “good” basketball or to enjoy chess.
- Continue doing what you like best. Identify that exact thing that you are exceptionally competent in doing. But remember to limit yourself. If you’re exceptional in soccer, you don’t have to play soccer all day just because you’re left with nothing to do. You know that you’re not young anymore, right?
- So, you have extreme things as hobbies? Well, you need not continue doing them after your retirement if they can harm you. Perhaps, it’s about time that you serve the community. Choose one volunteer activity per month that will give you a sense of community and interactive pride.
- Read books. Set a goal of the number of books you will read within a month’s time. This is the perfect time to read those books that you have always wanted to read before.
